For over 30 years, Hawley AC and Heating has provided Kern County with outstanding HVAC service, from repairs and maintenance to the installation of high efficiency air conditioning systems. We are a licensed, bonded and insured business.

Maintenance & Service

If your HVAC system is currently working, but you’d like to have it thoroughly inspected, Hawley AC and Heating provides commercial and residential preventative maintenance for split, packaged and ductless mini-split systems. Should summer or winter be around the corner, a seasonal service can help prevent common air conditioner or heater problems from arising. This was the second time we had Ted from Hawley's come and work on our system and we couldn't be happier with the service we have received. Last year it was a fuse that needed to be replaced and today we needed to have the motor replaced. Ted always makes time for you even when he's super busy and he's reasonable and explains everything and gives great customer service. Last year he also replaced the unit on our son's house.  Verified  Amazing customer service. I called Ted first to help diagnose what might be wrong with my Carrier furnace, because no one in Bakersfield could identify the actual issue. I had hired two people before Ted, and all they told me was that it just needed a cleaning but they were completely wrong. Ted took the time to thoroughly troubleshoot, checking every possibility step by step, and he finally found the real problem. The next day, he picked up the parts and installed everything that same afternoon. Ted is truly an incredible professional. I've never spoken with someone so knowledgeable and thoughtful about HVAC. He's a total rock star. I've already recommended him to my neighbor, and honestly, I think more people in the community will be dealing with the same issue and could really benefit from his help.

 Verified  This company surpasses all heating and air businesses I've used.  They are real people, kind, responsive, fair and know their stuff.  They are interested in saving money for the customer by trying to diagnose over the phone and being prepared with the equipment they may need--rather than make an extra trip to Tehachapi. Ted is calm friendly.  Does not overcharge!!! Despite being located in Bakersfield, their charge was way less than Heating and Air companies in Tehachapi.

 Verified  I can't say enough how thankful I am for Ted Hawley!! First, our son's a/c went out and I reached out to Hawley's based on all of the positive reviews I have read. He got to his unit yesterday, a Saturday, and determined the problem and will order the part and fix it as soon as he can! Well believe it or not, later yesterday afternoon, our darn unit also went out!! So I contacted Ted and he was willing to come by even though it was after 5:00pm to take a look! What a guy! I can't thank him enough and honestly have not experienced such honest and caring customer service in a very long time!  Verified  Ted Hawley has been my repair guy since I moved to Bakersfield in 2003.  He has always been soft spoken and extremely honest to me in my dealings with him.  My HVAC finally bit the dust in November.  I had Ted come over and he finally admitted that yeah, my HVAC was caput.  He advised me that if I could wait until January 1, 2023 then I will be eligible for large Federal Rebates that will be coming out as part of the new federal infrastructure programs, rebates that are generally much larger than prior programs from previous years.  Anyway, we waited till January 1 and he installed a state of art Seer 19,  5 ton Bosch Heat Pump on my roof.  Beautiful installation with no hitches.  This heat pump seems to be saving me money because the heat pump does not use natural gas, so I pay nearly nothing for that side of the PG&E bill, and the electrical use has bumped up slightly, but is completely offset by the natural gas savings.  Only time will tell the big story on how efficient this unit is, but so far my PG&E bill is showing moderately good savings.   Also the heat pump unit operates very quietly which is a complete surprise because I can't hear it come on inside or outside the house.  Hoping for huge savings this summer, as all heat pumps are more efficient in hotter weather.  Thanks Ted!

 Verified  Hawley just installed a Daikin Fit heating/cooling system in our home. I researched all things central air, and set up meetings with companies in the TehachapI/Bakersfield area to get 3 quotes. Hawley was straightforward and didn't try to upsell unneeded  add-ons.  Verified  I have made Hawley AC & Heating my HVAC guys forever. Over 40 years in the business and they do a GREAT job every time and never over charge. In fact, I'm always afraid they are making a mistake when I get their invoice because it is so much less than I expected. Steve Hawley is a great guy who is super thorough and they never go away without taking care of my problems in a satisfactory way. I found them on Yelp and glad I did. They do get busy, but they really try hard to get to a customer as fast as they can. I can't tell you how crazy I've been treated by other HVAC companies. Never by Hawley. Just good work at a great price. You guys are a comfort to me, mostly because you get the temps in my house comfortable again. But also because I know I can depend on you. Thank you!!!
